electronic sign list page.
This mylar front route sign was designed for one of Kitchener Transit's 1987
built MCI Classics (numbered in the 8800 series). Compared to the c.1989
one to the right, this one is much closer to how it looked as it was originally
printed, with only three (dark red) exposures added after the fact. Other
modifications may have happened as well since there's several splices in
the sign. Its original print date is December 7, 1987 and it has 60 exposures.
This rollsign was donated to Rollsign Gallery by John McDonnell.

5/12/89 TRANSIGN
This mylar front route sign was designed for one of Kitchener Transit's 1989
built MCI Classics. Unlike the sign to the left, this one has been heavily
modified from how it was originally printed, with several new exposures
added or substituted in. This original sign would have been the last full
rollsign style created for any new buses, as the 1989 Orion V buses got
signs from this same print run, and the 1990 order of new Orion V buses
had electronic signs. This sign has 76 exposures. Its sign tag is shown
below.

Kitchener Transit 1987 built MCI Classic #8801 is seen at
the downtown Kitchener transit terminal on June 21, 1996.

This bus would have been delivered with the c.1987 sign
seen above the photo.

The sign in the bus in this photo has been modified
similarly to the c.1989 sign shown above this text, since
its displaying a replaced "3 OTTAWA SOUTH" exposure.
This mylar front route sign is off of 1985 built GMC TC40-102N "Classic" #8506.
Its print date is August 1, 1985 (light red exposures) but has had several update
exposures added and substituted. Some of the last updates before Kitchener
Transit became part of Grand River Transit are on this sign, including the
removal of 10 Brigadoon, the updated Route 16 exposures, and the school
specials near the end. The sign has 76 exposures. Its sign tag is shown below.

8/1/85 TRANSIGN
This mylar side route sign is an exact match to the
front sign seen immediately to its left, in both original
print style and replaced or added exposures. The
vehicle its off of is unknown. This sign was drawn
virtually perfect to scale. The image has been
enlarged 1.5 times that of the other signs on this
page to show detail. Its sign tag is shown below.

This mylar front route sign is off of 1985 built GMC TC40-102N "Classic" #8507.
What makes this one unique from the rest is the addition of the "SANTA'S
EXPRESS" exposure at the end. Only bus #8507 had this sign. It also has
both the older and newer exposures for Routes 1, 2 and 3. It has 89 exposures.
This rollsign was donated to Rollsign Gallery by John McDonnell.
This mylar side route sign is off Grand River Transit's
1975 built GMC T6H-5307N #755, formerly Kitchener
Transit #755. It has no print date. This sign has the older
style base exposures like previous signs, but has been
updated to match the next two. This sign was drawn
virtually perfect to scale. The image has been enlarged 1.5
times that of the other signs on this page to show detail.
This rollsign was donated to RG by John McDonnell.
