In 1992, Oshawa Transit underwent a system-wide revamping of their service and routes.
This in turn, required new rollsigns to be printed. The new style featured yellow print on a
black background. As newer routes were created, update inserts were printed.
- On the left are "uncirculated" single exposures. The standard size and jumbo front route
15 exposures were printed on yellow mylar and have no date. The route 14 exposure was
printed on white mylar with yellow colouring for the character space, and is dated August
22, 1994. (The exposure has about 2 feet of blank before it.)
- On the right is
the insert section that was printed for another major update of service
that occured on November 29, 2004. The full sign is seen at the far right of this page.
The insert section to the right was donated to Rollsign Gallery by John McDonnell.
This mint condition mylar side
sign dated March, 1992. This
version was the first created
for the 1992 system-wide
changes. It has 24 exposures.
Its sign tag is shown below.

These mylar front route signs were originally dated March, 1992, but have
updates dating them to August 22, 1994 (Routes 4A, 13 and 14). They each
have 27 exposures. The only difference between them is the placement of the
original 1992 sign tag. The left one has it in the traditional centered position.
The right one has it on the far upper-left corner of the end blank, a rarity for
signs produced in North America. Their identical sign tags are shown below.

In 2000, Oshawa Transit had yet another tag-on sign set printed to update their rollsigns. These mint condition tag-ons are
dated July 28, 2000. With each set, it shows the tag-on inserted onto an full length rollsign. The difference between the two
side signs is that the first one had "9B Thornton" removed by mistake. Their respective sign tags are shown below.
The tag-on has 7 exposures.

The full-length signs with

the tag on added are
shown here.

The one with the missing
"9B Thornton" listing (left)
has 33 exposures. The
complete one with 9B
(right) has 34 exposures.

The add-on section and
both the sign tags all
read as follows:

On November 29, 2004, Oshawa Transit had its final tag-on sign set printed to update their rollsigns. The upper section replaced the former "15 Taunton" exposure, added several new
routes, and included school special names. The middle section changed "8 Rossland" to "8 Stevenson", and added one new route and two new branches of existing routes. Even
though the updated exposures were from 2004, the end blanks were saved from the previous update, so they all still have the 2000 version sign tags. The mylar front standard sign
(left), the mylar side sign (middle) and the mylar jumbo front sign (right) each have 52 exposures. The side sign image has been enlarged to 1 1/2 times that of others, to show detail.
