Rollsigns from State College, PA
This mylar front destination sign is off retired
CATA / Center Line GMC New Look #41. The
sign appears to be printed by Transign, but had
no sign tag or print date. It has 32 exposures.
CATA / Center Line GMC New Look #41, still displaying the
rollsign shown here, is parked at a repair yard on State Road
208 near Emlenton, PA., March 3, 2013.
Center Area Transportation Authority began service on May 17, 1974. By 1979, service demand
and ridership had increased, so the system added new routes and purchased additional buses
from GMC. In 1996, CATA began a program to convert their fleet to environmentally friendly
CNG buses. Their first order was for CNG buses from Orion Bus Industries. By 1997, an order
of New Flyer CNG low floor buses would spell the end of the remaining GMC New Look diesel buses.
The system still operates to this date with a fleet of alternative fuel vehicles.
The image of the rollsign has been drawn
virtually perfect to scale, and is the same scale
as other sign images on Rollsign Gallery.
