Rollsigns from SouthWest Transit, MN
Carver, Chanhassen, Chaska, Eden Prairie and Area
These four mint condition mylar rollsign inserts were all manufactured
by Transign, but none have print dates. Each has three exposures.
SouthWest Transit serves the area southwest of Minneapolis, comprising the communities of Carver,
Chanhassen, Chaska and Eden Prairie, with on demand service expanding even further. Headquartered
in Eden Prairie, the service began in 1986 when these suburban communities chose to opt-out of
receiving Metro Transit service under a statute of the Minnesota State legislature. Originally, funding
for their own transit came directly from property taxes. Since 2001, transit funding comes from
vehicle sales tax. Having primarily express/commuter routes to downtown Minneapolis, the University
of Minnesota, Normandale Community College and Best Buy Headquarters, and a number of seasonal
services, including State Fair, Twins Express, Vikings Express, Gophers Express, select concerts,
and more, SouthWest Transit still operates to this day.
