Rollsigns from Cedar Rapids, IA |
In recent history, transit in Cedar Rapids went by the name Easyrider previous to 1993, and ran under the city department known as "Five Seasons Transportation and Parking". In 1993, the system changed its name to "EAGL" (Environmental Alternative for a Greater Lifestyle) and redecorated their buses with an eagle head striped color scheme. This change wasn't as successful for drawing ridership as the city had hoped. Later, when the city reorganized its departments, the transit system became its own entity, and was once again renamed. The current Cedar Rapids Transit, with a new CR Transit logo, operates 14 routes in the city, based out of their Ground Transportation Center (GTC) downtown terminal. |
